Well done to Lukas for making his First Confession on Wednesday.
P4-P7 had a great morning in Ballycastle with Deirdre celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge. After a welcome breakfast, they completed their first workshop- likes and dislikes in Irish. They were then joined by all the local primary schools for a Céilí. After lunch, they had another workshop- this time the theme was weather. Go raibh maith agat to Deirdre, the musicians and all the volunteers for a brilliant day.
As a school we will be taking part in this project in Term 3. Most of you will be familiar with it after the recent NI Science Week events on the island. Please ensure permission slips for photos etc. are returned asap.
‘In a nutshell, the Future Island-Island project will apply the best design-led research to the ‘real world’ and see which are most feasible on a large scale.
The ambition? That this two-year project will find out what works for Rathlin and what can be applied to other communities – through lifestyle changes, eco-friendly waste management options, and a responsible approach to tourism and heritage by harnessing the power of digital technology. Find out more from Professor Justin Magee, Research Director for Art & Design at Ulster University and Principal Investigator on Future Island-Island.’ (From the website https://www.ulster.ac.uk/events/research/ulster-future-island-island)
