We are delighted that once again this year we are taking part in the Irish News Young Readers project in P6 and P7. The award-winning project for children aged 8-12 is delivered in partnership with EY, Colin Glen, Belfast Zoo and St. Mary’s, Belfast.
Have a look at some of the fantastic bug homes created by the P5-P7 class. Every week they monitor it and check to see what bugs they can find.
For our latest wellbeing day, we focused on outdoor learning. Being outdoors is proven to have a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing. With the help of volunteers from the Liferaft project, we tidied our garden space and started to plant some new seeds. We also launched our nature journals- something we will work throughout he final term of school.
Well done to June in P3 who won the Easter prize from the Credit Union in Ballycastle.
We were delighted to visit the RSPB Rathlin West Light Seabird Centre today. Thank you to Geraldine and all the staff for the warm welcome and telling us about their preparations for the forthcoming season.
Today we welcomed W5 to our school for a workshop on ‘The World from Space’. Pupils explored how satellites are used, how they communicate, what infrared cameras are and how sound travels. Pupils also had the chance to explore the micro bit- something they will do more of next term in their coding lessons. Did you know Ireland's first satellite was launched 1st December 2023? Thank you to W5 and we'll see you in June.
