Have a look at what's happening in our school.
Last week in Topic we looked at how light is reflected and learned that light travels in straight lines. We then had to design our own book bag based on the results of our experiment.
Please see the attached letter regarding World Book Day.
Today we made bird feeders in P1-P3 and took them to our garden as part of our topic 'Animal Antics'.
'Live Loudly, Donate Proudly'.
We are delighted to take part in the pilot scheme of a new organ donation project, promoted by the Public Health Agency, for N Ireland schools. It is inspired by Lucia Quinney Mee and her campaign, Live Loudly Donate Proudly. This campaign is all about conversation, communication and education, in order to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation and has a special place in hearts of the local people on the Island. On Tuesday, Patricia demonstrated some of the skills of traditional pancake making- and flipping- for us as we celebrated Pancake Tuesday.
Today, we celebrated Children's Mental Health Week in school. The theme of the day was 'Be unique: Be yourself'. We had a lovely yoga session, a wellbeing walk and finished the day with some healthy smoothies. We welcomed back last year's P7's and past pupils Freyja and Jago. A big thank you to Boyle's Spar Ballycastle for donating the cups for our smoothies and Dessie Smyth at Ballycastle Community Fridge for the fruit.
