• The Glens Healthy Places 2 Project

  Some staff took part in ‘The Glens Healthy Places 2’ project. We are one of eleven schools taking part and the next section of the program is called ‘Sunrise’. It will focus on building emotional health and resilience for the children and parents will also be involved. We plan to commence the program after the Easter break and more information will be given out then. Keep an eye out for any updates.

  

• World Book Day 2023

  We had a great day celebrating world book day. Pupils brought in their character teddy with their favourite book. Throughout the day we took part in book activities including peer reading with older and younger pupils, the DEAR (Drop, Everything And Read) bell and we had a special book day assembly. • Irish News Young Reader Project

  We are happy to announce that we taking part in 'The Irish News Young News Readers' Media Project. This project provides a weekly School Edition newspaper accompanied by an educational resource booklet to aid the development of literacy skills and critical thinking at Key Stage 2. 

  

• Spring has arrived!

  Spring has 'officially' arrived as we embark on our garden project. Over the course of the term, we are going to use our school garden on a regular basis. If you have any expertise in this area, please speak to a member of staff as we could do with some help to get the garden into shape. We would love to start to grow our own vegetables to teach the pupils all about food.

• 'Live Loudly, Donate Proudly'.

  'Live Loudly, Donate Proudly'.

  We are delighted to take part in the pilot scheme of a new organ donation project, promoted by the Public Health Agency, for N Ireland schools.  It is inspired by Lucia Quinney Mee and her campaign, Live Loudly Donate Proudly.  This campaign is all about conversation, communication and education, in order to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation and has a special place in hearts of the local people on the Island.
