    Mon 14 Apr 2025

We were delighted to take part in the launch of the Oral History Group’s book that marked 200 years of a school on Rathlin Island. Throughout the event, we heard from some of those people who contributed to the book and our pupils got the chance to recall their favourite school memories. It was a wonderful occasion where generations of islanders came together to mark a truly significant event and we look forward to more celebrations this coming term. Thank you to all who contributed.

  • Pupil voice

    Mon 10 Mar 2025

Recently at our assemblies we have been thinking about what pupil voice is and how all pupils can have an input into our school. Pupil voice in a small school means actively involving students in decisions that affect their learning and school environment. With a close-knit community, every student's opinion is valued, fostering a sense of ownership, responsibility, and engagement. It allows for meaningful dialogue between students and staff, ensuring that pupils feel heard and empowered to contribute to positive changes in their school experience.

During our most recent assembly we asked the pupils two questions:

    - What is going/went well (WWW)

    - Even Better If (EBI)

The pupils’ responses are shown in the leaflet attached and it makes for very encouraging reading. Our pupils are happy and yet able to think how we can improve. They are articulate and beginning to really foster a sense of leadership in our school community.

  • World Book Day 2025

    Thu 06 Mar 2025

This year for world book day 2025 pupils created their favourite book characters from recycled materials they had at home. We had a range of characters from Irish mythical stories, local legends and some world-famous ones. Have a look at the pictures and see if you can spot the characters.

Pupils also listened to the story of 'The Lorax'- read by Mrs. Wisner Clarke and made their own Lorax character.
